Aloe Vera and Red Clover May Help Oral Health Care
It’s often said good health starts in the mouth, and poor oral health has been linked to unwanted conditions as we age. Yet oral health is often overlooked. A new research review concluded that some botanicals including Aloe vera and Red clover may support certain aspects of oral health.
For their study, researchers from Batterjee Medical College reviewed data from previous studies that looked at the effects of complementary and alternative medicine techniques on oral health. The techniques they looked at included Ayurveda, Naturopathy, Homeopathy, and Chinese Medicine.
The researchers found that Aloe vera and Red clover had a soothing effect on inflamed gums and sores in the mouth. In addition, they may help promote a healthier and cleaner mouth environment.
The researchers also found that belladonna may help relieve toothache. Calendula was found to be useful in treating halitosis, and acupressure was found to help relieve tooth and jaw pain.
