Coccinia Indica May Help Lower Blood Sugar Levels.
A new study showed that a daily dose of the Indian herb, Coccinia indica, reduced blood sugar levels 18% after meals. This study was a double blind, placebo controlled study and published in the journal Diabetes Care.
The study included 60 participants with mild type-2 diabetes. Half were given one gram of Coccinia indica to take daily, while the others received a placebo.
After 90 days, those taking the Coccinia indica supplement reduced their fasting blood levels sugar 16% and postprandial blood sugar levels (after eating) by 18%.
This is the second study that showed that Coccinia indica may help lower blood sugar levels. This herb has been used for centuries in Ayurvedic medicine and grows naturally on the Indian continent.
Other herbal ingredients that have been shown to support healthy blood sugar levels are Aloe vera, American ginseng, and cinnamon.
