Curcumin May Help Support Healthy Blood Sugar and Muscle Recovery After Exercise
A new study reviewed the effects of supplementation with curcumin combined with physical exercise, and found the combination may help support healthy blood sugar control and aid muscle recovery after exercise.
For their study, the researchers reviewed the results of 18 pre-clinical and clinical trials conducted with those struggling with blood sugar health.
The researchers found that supplementation with curcumin helped support blood sugar control. In addition, when combined with physical exercise, there was less damage to muscle tissue, and recovery after exercise improved. This is believed to be due to antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
The study was conducted by researchers from the Universidade Federal de Sergipe.It was published online ahead of print on December 31, 2020 in the journal Nutrients.
