CoQ10 As Ubiquinol May Help Improve Aerobic Capacity

Ubiquinol is the active form of coenzyme Q10. It has strong antioxidant properties, promotes cellular energy and blood flow, and helps to protect cell membranes. A recent study suggests that daily supplementation with ubiquinol may help improve aerobic capacity.

The study included 29 athletically trained men between the ages of 20 and 30. They received 200 mg of ubiquinol or a placebo daily for 6 weeks. The researchers evaluated aerobic capacity, body mass index, body fat percentage, and blood pressure levels at baseline and at the end of the study period.

Participants in the ubiquinol group had significantly increased aerobic capacity compared to the placebo group at the end of the study. They also saw significant decreases in body mass index and body fat percentage and improvements in blood pressure.

The study was conducted by researchers from Mae Fah Luang University. It was published January 1, 2022 in the Songklanakarin Journal of Science and Technology.

A previous study found that coenzyme Q10 may help support cardiovascular health.
