Dear Friends,
Today we’re diving into an ingredient that does a lot of heavy lifting when it comes to joint comfort, muscle recovery, and daily resilience.
This helps explain why it’s growing in popularity.
It’s called PEA — short for palmitoylethanolamide. In my opinion, the best studied and best absorbed form of PEA for supplements is an ingredient branded as Levagen+.
If you’re using our TrueJoint FLX supplement, you’ll recognize Levagen+ as one of the star ingredients.
Better yet, new research is showing the Levagen+ form of PEA can help you in many other ways beyond joint health – including immune function, cognitive performance, and sleep.
We’ll summarize these findings in a moment, but first a little background.
What is PEA?
PEA is a fatty compound that your body makes naturally and is released by cells to help manage discomfort, stress, and a healthy inflammation response. PEA can be found in tissues throughout the body.
You also get small amounts of PEA from food sources like egg yolks, soybeans, and peanuts. But the challenge is this: your body’s own production of PEA drops off as you get older, just when you need it most.
As stress in our lives and joint problems increase, PEA availability heads the other way and declines. So the idea of supplementing with PEA makes a lot of sense.
Sounds simple enough, but there’s a catch - PEA is notoriously hard for your body to absorb.
It’s a fat-soluble nutrient that doesn’t mix well with water or stomach fluids, so most standard PEA supplements don’t help much unless you take large doses — which isn’t always ideal or cost effective.
That’s why Levagen+ PEA is such a breakthrough. It uses a delivery technology called LipiSperse®, which helps the PEA disperse better in the stomach and become more digestion ready.
A published research study found this increased absorption into the bloodstream by about 1.8 times compared to regular PEA.
This means you can get powerful benefits from a smaller dose, and perhaps in a shorter amount of time. In fact, studies show that joint and muscle benefits often begin within 3 to 14 days of use.
14 Human Studies Reveal Benefits
Let’s now review some of the key scientific findings, as the number of human studies with Levagen is at least 14 in number - with more coming.
As mentioned, PEA is perhaps best known for its ability to help ease joint discomfort and stiffness, and improve joint function, while boosting muscle recovery.
Just 300mg a day of Levagen+ led to significant improvements in joint comfort and flexibility compared to placebo.
The research indicates benefits can start within days, with results steadily improving over 60 days with continued use.
What’s great about PEA is that it doesn’t just mask discomfort — it works with your body to help calm overactive inflammation pathways, supporting a healthier response long term.
That’s one of the key reasons why we included it in our premium joint formula, the TrueJoint FLX supplement.
Another exciting benefit? Faster muscle recovery.
I personally love this benefit because I like to exercise or workout every day, and at now at age 59, it’s just plain harder to recover.
My body reminds me it’s not 1995 anymore, and we need some extra help, which is what I get from Levagen+ and TrueJoint FLX.
I’m able to stay active each day, which I think is not only good for physical health and maintaining muscle mass, but I find it makes a big difference for me mentally too – and I hate missing a day.
In a study of healthy adults, Levagen+ helped reduce markers of muscle damage — including myoglobin, creatine kinase, and lactate — within 72 hours of intense training.
Participants also reported less soreness compared to placebo.
Interestingly, Levagen+ also supported mTOR activity, which is key for muscle repair and growth. So this isn’t just about comfort — Levagen+ could also support performance and training outcomes.
Sleep & Stress Support Too
Sleep and stress support is where things get even more interesting. PEA, and specifically Levagen+, appears to play a role in keeping the nervous system in balance, which means it can help your body wind down at night and bounce back from daily stress.
In one study, people taking Levagen+ fell asleep faster, and woke up feeling more refreshed, with improved mental alertness.
Other research showed that Levagen+ may support BDNF production — a brain-derived protein associated with learning, memory, and mood.
In a research study, students taking Levagen+ performed better in cognition tests compared to the placebo group.
Also, a small study with female students, found that after 6 weeks Levagen+ had a positive effect on heart rate variability, a key marker of how well your body is handling stress.
Other Key Findings
The list of potential PEA benefits keeps growing – and I suspect this may continue for years to come.
Here are a few more highlights from current research with Levagen+:
• Menstrual comfort: A single dose of Levagen+ was shown to reduce uterine cramping and abdominal discomfort during menstruation.
• Gut health: those taking Levagen+ for 12 weeks experienced improvements in the immune marker IL-2, which suggests a healthier intestinal inflammation response in the gut.
• Metabolic health: after 12 weeks, certain metabolic health pathways improved, as demonstrated by a positive support for triglyceride levels in those taking Levagen+, compared to the placebo group.
Now we still need more large-scale research in these areas, but so far, the results are encouraging.
When we created TrueJoint FLX, we wanted something that would help increase joint comfort, while still being gentle, natural, and backed by science.
Levagen+ fits that bill perfectly. It’s a great way to support joint comfort and reduce stiffness — but may also bring those bonus benefits for sleep, recovery, immune health, and more.
I think you’ll find it works great alongside the other ingredients in TrueJoint FLX.
Yours for Good Health,

Carl Pradelli
