Dear Friends,
How can a fiber both help you keep weight off and improve skin appearance?
Sounds strange, but that’s what researchers found is possible with the novel Solnul dietary fiber.
In my last letter, we discussed how Solnul can have a positive impact on the earliest indicator of declining metabolic function - which is the amount of free fatty acids circulating in the blood.
By metabolic function, we’re referring to how efficiently the body converts energy in food to energy that’s available to power the cells in our body.
As you may know, good metabolic function is key for weight management and important to maintain good blood sugar, heart and cardiovascular health over time.
Researchers believe Solnul supports metabolic function by increasing friendly Akkermansia bacteria in the gut.
This matters because Akkermansia can help support healthy GLP-1 levels and help improve the efficiency of how insulin works in the body, which is a key part of metabolic health.
A previous study with Solnul found that ingesting 3.5 grams of Solnul daily for 28 days, increased friendly Akkermansia bacteria in the gut by over 200%, a significant result.
Solnul May Help You Maintain Collagen Too.
The example above illustrates the power of improving your gut health and supporting a healthy balance of bacteria in our intestines.
Another example is skin health, with studies indicating Solnul may help with the maintenance of healthy collagen levels.
Specifically, Solnul has been shown to help decrease levels of 5-hydroxylysine and 4-hydroxyproline, which are markers of collagen degradation.
While some collagen degradation is a natural part of the healthy skin turnover process, excessive collagen loss contributes to visible signs of aging like wrinkles and sagging skin.
Research indicates Solnul may help counteract excessive collagen degradation.
This is believed to result in part from the intestinal barrier function support of Solnul, which has another key benefit.
Leaky Gut Protection
If you’re familiar with the term “leaky gut”, you know maintaining healthy gut barrier function is important.
This barrier helps protect against toxins and other unwanted substances from entering the bloodstream through the intestines.
I mentioned how Solnul was found to increase friendly Akkermansia bacteria in the gut.
In addition to supporting metabolic function, an increase in the population of Akkermansia in the gut has been associated with better intestinal barrier function.
More evidence that Solnul may help with intestinal barrier function was a study showing that taking 3.5 grams of Solnul can help reduce levels of histamine, and histamine secreting gut bacteria.
This is important for maintaining a healthy inflammation response in the gut, and it’s also a signal of better gut intestinal barrier function.
Healthier Bowel Movements
The last potential benefit of Solnul that I want to highlight is how it’s been found to help support healthy bowel movements.
Many fibers can help support regularity and frequency. An interesting finding with Solnul is it can help both people who are either experiencing loose stools and those at the other end of the spectrum, who are struggling to poop regularly and comfortably.
Solnul seems to be able to help both groups improve their stool quality, indicating better bowel and gut function.
One of the reasons I really like this ingredient as a supplement, is it only takes 3.5 grams to get the benefits – many other fiber options require 5g or 10g.
Plus, Solnul is very unlikely to cause any of the unwanted effects people sometimes experience with fiber supplements – like bloating or other digestive discomfort.
Even better, Solnul is also very environmentally friendly, made from what was previously waste resulting from preparing potatoes for food consumption.
The water used in cutting potatoes contains resistant starch (dietary fiber), which is removed, dried and upcycled into Solnul.
Plus, the now clean water is then returned to the reservoir to help new crops, a nice process that helps sustainability.
As I mentioned last time, our TrueDYB, “digest your best” supplement, has 3.5g of Solnul per serving among the 16 ingredients in this digestive super formula.
These powerful ingredients have documented scientific evidence showing they may help you in at least 25 important ways – even beyond digestive health, as seen with Solnul.
