Dear Friends,

If you’re looking for help with brain health and cognitive function – it could be different aspects of memory, attention, recall or even helping mood – then you’ll be interested in the impressive results from the latest study with a Sicilian grape extract called Cognigrape.

You may know that some research studies have found that drinking grape juice may help brain health and cognitive function as we age.

This support is attributed to the powerful polyphenol nutrients in grapes called anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins.

These polyphenols help protect brain cells from free radical damage, support a healthy inflammation response, and may help strengthen the transmission of information from one brain cell to another – which makes it easier to think and communicate.

Results experienced in the research with grape juice has been mixed, in part because the levels of the key anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins varies and is inconsistent.

Cognigrape changed this and provides consistently high level of these key brain health supporting nutrients.

Ideal Growing Conditions Surrounding Mt. Etna

The grapes used to make Cognigrape are grown in Sicily, Italy, in the very rich soil in the areas surrounding Mt. Etna, the main volcano in the Mediterranean region.

In addition, eastern Sicily is considered to be an optimal area to grow grapes because large temperature fluctuations between the day and night (hot days, cold nights) cause an intense red pigmentation in the grape flesh.

As a result, the juice obtained from these grapes naturally contains a potent combination of the beneficial proanthocyanidins and anthocyanins shown to promote brain health.

What makes the research results with Cognigrape especially impressive is the participants were healthy middle-aged adults.

In contrast, much of the research with grape juice was conducted on folks already experiencing cognitive decline.

By definition, it’s harder to show improvements in subjects with already normal cognitive function, but this was seen in those taking Cognigrape for 12 weeks.

New Study Verifies Earlier Findings

The new study on Cognigrape was published in the journal Foods, and verified the results seen in the first study – which also involved healthy middle-aged adults.
The first study only collected results at the start and end of the 12 week study.

In this study, they tracked results after 2 weeks and 4 weeks, as well as at the end (12 weeks) to assess how quicky Cognigrape starts working and the progression.

Researchers used a battery of methods considered “gold standard” tests to assess cognitive performance and function.

This included the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), which assesses five areas of cognitive function including working memory, verbal memory, recall and orientation.

The MMSE scoring scale goes from zero to 30 points.  If you score between 25 and 30, you’re considered to have normal cognitive function (there’s an age adjusted grading curve).

The participants in this study had an average score of 27.0 at the start – already well within the normal range.

Improvements Started in as Little as 2 Weeks

After just 2 weeks, those taking Cognigrape experienced a significant improvement compared to the placebo group, on average.

Results continued to get better with further improvement after 4 weeks, and by the end of the 12 week study, those taking Cognigrape improved their MMSE score from an already good 27 at the start to a very impressive 29.3 after 12 weeks, on average.

You’ll recall that 30 is a perfect score on this cognitive test, so making that much of an improvement with the Cognigrape supplement is a very strong outcome.

Also important, the change in the Cognigrape group was about 2.4x greater than the placebo group, and this was very significant from a statistical point of view.

What’s more, that wasn’t the only cognitive test showing an improvement.

Second Cognitive Test Also Shows Steady Improvement

The researchers also administered another cognitive test known as RBANS (Repeatable Battery for the Assessment of Neuropsychological Status)

RBANS gives scores in 5 domains of cognitive performance: immediate memory, visuospatial abilities, language, attention, and delayed memory.

Those taking Cognigrape experienced significant improvements on all 5 of these domains after 4 weeks, and at the end of the study.

Like with the MMSE test, the rate of improvement in the Cognigrape group was about 2.4x greater than the placebo group after 12 weeks.

Also similar to the MMSE test, there was steady improvement throughout the 12 week study period in RBANS scores.

But the researchers didn’t stop there.

Third Test With 16 Subtests

On top of this, cognitive function was further investigated with a test called ENB-2.
ENB-2 includes 16 subtests assessing memory, attention, recall and other aspects of cognitive function.

The Cognigrape group did very well making a significant improvement in 15 of the 16 tests during the study.

I was curious about the one test where there wasn’t a significant improvement compared to the placebo group.

It was a test for abstract reasoning or pattern recognition… so if I were to say 2,4,6...you would then say 8, to continue the pattern.

On this abstract reasoning test, those taking Cognigrape improved, but the placebo group had a similar improvement too – so it wasn’t clear that Cognigrape was making a difference in this case.

Nonetheless, strong and significant improvements on 15 of the 16 test areas is pretty impressive, especially in folks who already had healthy and normal cognitive function.

The total composite score for this ENB-2 test improved at a rate that was about 2.3x greater than the placebo group, in line with the MMSE and RBANS test results.

From start to finish, I think the results of this Cognigrape are very impressive and confirm what the first study illustrated – which is that taking the potent Cognigrape Sicilian Grape extract daily can make a notable difference in your brain health and cognitive function.

We include Cognigrape as one of the 7 super fruit extracts in our TrueBerry7 drink powder.

One of my favorite supplements, TrueBerry7 is a powerhouse product for healthy aging, with many benefits for brain health and cognitive function, heart and cardiovascular health, immune system function and much more.

You can add a scoop of TrueBerry7 to water and drink it, or combine it with other powders, protein shakes, smoothies or any other way that’s convenient for you.

For the first few months, I suggest taking 2 scoops daily, and afterwards, you can try taking 1 scoop per day to help maintain support from the super fruits (or continue with the 2 scoops if preferred).

Yours for Good Health,

Carl Pradelli
