Dear Friends,

In this letter, we’re going to discuss a topic that I believe is the source of digestive issues and discomfort for many people, which is a “cortisol gut.”

As you may know, cortisol is known as the stress hormone because when we’re feeling stressed, nervous, or struggling emotionally, cortisol levels in the body tend to spike and increase.

It’s important to note that cortisol isn’t all bad, and when it’s maintained in a normal range it assists the body in many functions.

These include helping to maintain a normal blood sugar level, supporting memory, easing discomfort, and helping you to wake up in the morning.

It’s when cortisol levels get elevated that it can have many negative effects on your body and health – like making weight management more challenging and disrupting healthy bone formation.

Most recently, research has linked elevated cortisol levels with digestive struggles like occasional heartburn, bloating, gas, diarrhea and struggles to stay regular.

This is not surprising because research also indicates stress can affect the rate food flows through the digestive system – also called transit time – and impact the inflammation response in the gut.

Women are Believed to be More Vulnerable to Cortisol Gut

Although we all feel and are impacted by the stresses of modern-day life, cortisol gut is believed to be more prevalent in women.

Researchers think this may be because of the unique hormonal cycles of women and a heightened sensitivity to stress.

It’s also believed women experience more visceral hypersensitivity, meaning they often feel gastrointestinal symptoms more intensely – but men are affected too.

Now, this may all sound like bad news, but you must identify the problem first to fix it – so let’s now review how you can do that.

Dual Action Shown to Provide Relief

Realistically, no product can reduce or eliminate things that are causing you stress – that’s unique to you and what’s going on in your life.

What we can do is improve how your body reacts to and deals with stress, which can help you keep cortisol levels in a healthy range - and help you overcome the digestive challenges of cortisol gut.

In my mind, the best supplement ingredient to do this and meet the challenge of cortisol gut is called Digexin.

Digexin has a dual action that helps protect against the effects of cortisol gut.

First, it helps keep cortisol levels in a healthy range, while promoting serotonin, which is known as the body’s natural “feel good” neurotransmitter.

Said differently, Digexin can help you cope with stress better, while supporting more positive moods.

At the same time, Digexin works to promote the normal movement of food through the digestive system.  As I mentioned earlier, this is known as food transit time.

When food moves through the stomach and intestines too slowly, this often leads to bloating and discomfort, and make it really difficult to stay regular.

On the other hand, it’s also undesirable if food moves through the system too quickly, as this can cause diarrhea and interfere with nutrient absorption.

So we want to achieve the “Goldilocks” of food transit time – not too fast and not too slow.

Research Shows Impressive Digexin Benefits

Research shows Digexin helps support a normal food transit time, in addition to promoting healthy cortisol and serotonin levels.

Better yet, after 60 days of taking Digexin in a placebo-controlled study, users experienced an impressive number of digestive health benefits and relief, on average.

These included reduced abdominal discomfort and less bloating, burping, cramping and gas.  Users of Digexin also reported fewer symptoms associated with occasional heartburn and indigestion.

Also important, users who had occasionally struggled to stay regular, were able to sustain a more regular and normal bowel movement frequency while taking Digexin daily over the 60-day period.

On top of this, Digexin also appears to help soothe and lubricate the lining of the intestines and digestive tract (called the epithelial lining), which helps to hydrate stools for more comfortable and complete bowel evacuations.

“Leaky Gut” Protection Too

Finally, it was shown that Digexin helps support healthy intestinal barrier function.  This helps protect against what’s called “leaky gut.”

Leaky gut refers to poor or suboptimal function of the protective intestinal barrier that exists to help prevent unwanted or toxic substances from entering the bloodstream.

This barrier is a permeable wall, where tight junctions between cells control what leaves the intestines and enters the body.

When gaps between cells in the intestinal lining occur – and the junctions aren’t as tight as they should be – unwanted substances that otherwise wouldn’t enter the bloodstream make it through, and that’s what’s referred to as leaky gut.

Those taking Digexin experienced significant improvement in markers of intestinal barrier function, namely the zonulin protein and the DAO (diamine oxidase) enzyme.

Where You Can Find Digexin

Given all these findings, we’re very excited about how Digexin can help address cortisol gut and many aspects of digestive health.  This is why we feature Digexin in our TrueDYB (Digest Your Best) drink powder.

As good as Digexin is, your body still needs more to optimize digestive health, which is why we pack 16 powerful ingredients into TrueDYB, including prebiotics, probiotics, postbiotics, digestive enzymes, fiber, the GutGard licorice root extract and organic greens.
