Dear Friends,

Resveratrol has been discussed for years in the context of healthy aging, heart health, and longevity. Most of that conversation has focused on what’s happening inside the body.

But a new human study is drawing attention to something many people notice first as they age — changes in how their skin looks.

What makes this study especially interesting is that it didn’t use just any resveratrol. It used Veri-te resveratrol, a fermented form that we use in our TrueResveratrol supplement.

So today, I want to break down what this new study actually showed, who was studied, the dose that was used, and why Veri-te appears to work differently than many other resveratrol ingredients on the market.

We’ll also cover what this means beyond skin — including bone health and aging overall.

Small Dose, Visible Results

The skin health study was just published in the journal Frontiers in Aging.

The purpose was to evaluate the effects of Veri-te resveratrol supplementation on visible signs of skin aging.

The participants were healthy women over the age of 40, an age group where changes in skin quality, elasticity, and firmness are common and often noticeable.

Importantly, these were not extreme cases or cosmetic patients — they were everyday adults experiencing normal age-related skin changes.

Participants supplemented with 150 mg per day of Veri-te resveratrol, which is notable because this is a relatively low daily dose compared to many resveratrol supplements that provide 250, 500, or even 1,000 milligrams per day.

One of our favorite features of Veri-te is that multiple studies show it works at the lower 150 mg daily dose.

After the 8-week supplementation period, researchers observed measurable improvements in several markers associated with skin aging, including increased:

  • Skin elasticity
  • Skin firmness
  • A reduction in wrinkle appearance
  • Overall better skin quality

These are not superficial findings. Skin elasticity and firmness reflect underlying collagen structure, cellular turnover, and antioxidant protection — all of which decline with age.

The takeaway is simple but important:

At a daily dose of just 150 mg, Veri-te resveratrol demonstrated visible skin benefits compared to placebo in a controlled human study. That’s a meaningful bonus benefit for people taking Veri-te for its broader healthy aging support.

Same Factors Affect Aging Inside and Out

Although skin is often where aging becomes visible first, it’s rarely the root issue.
Skin aging is driven by oxidative stress, an unhealthy inflammation response, worsening mitochondrial function, and slower cellular repair.

These are the same biological processes involved in broader aging — including bone loss, cardiovascular decline, and metabolic changes.

And these are all processes that resveratrol may help support.

So when a nutrient improves skin quality, it’s frequently because it’s supporting fundamental cellular pathways, not just cosmetic surface features.

In case you’re not familiar with Veri-te, let’s quickly review what makes it different – because not all resveratrol is the same.

In fact, most resveratrol supplements are derived from Japanese knotweed grown in China, which has purity and contaminant concerns, and typically requires higher doses to achieve measurable effects, which may be partly due to limitations related to stability and bioavailability.

Veri-te resveratrol is produced through a natural fermentation process, which creates a highly pure, stable form of trans-resveratrol.

This fermentation process matters because it improves stability, may enhance resveratrol bioavailability, offers consistent potency in every batch, and studies show Veri-te is effective at lower daily doses.

That’s why the skin study used 150 mg per day — the same dose of Veri-te that’s been used in multiple human trials.

As we age, absorption and cellular responsiveness often decline, making ingredient quality and form more important.

Other Health Benefits of Veri-te Resveratrol

Beyond skin, one area that deserves more attention is bone health – a concern of many NatureCity clients.
Veri-te resveratrol is unusual in that it has human studies showing bone health benefits in both women and men.

Bone health is influenced by many of the same factors as skin aging, and research with Veri-te resveratrol has shown that it may help support bone-forming cells while helping maintain a healthy balance between bone formation and breakdown of older bone – a process you may recognize as bone resorption.

This is especially relevant for aging adults, since bone density naturally declines with age and is closely tied to mobility, independence, and quality of life.

The idea that the same compound can support skin structure and bone integrity reinforces the concept that resveratrol works at a foundational biological level.

As you may know, resveratrol has been studied for decades for its broader health effects.

Human and pre-clinical studies suggest it may support:

  • Cardiovascular health, including endothelial function
  • Metabolic health, including promoting insulin sensitivity
  • A healthy inflammatory response – which is so key to healthy aging
  • Mitochondrial function, which is central to cellular energy and aging
  • Cognitive and brain health, through antioxidant and signaling pathways

This is why resveratrol is sometimes described as a multi-system aging support nutrient rather than a single-purpose supplement.

Now, if you want to do a deeper dive on Veri-te resveratrol, you should check out an interview I did a couple of years back with Dr. Marcia da Silva Pinto, one of the lead scientists for Veri-te resveratrol.

That was episode 42 of the NatureCity podcast. Marcia has a wealth of knowledge on resveratrol.

The new skin-aging study adds to a growing body of evidence that Veri-te resveratrol delivers measurable benefits at a lower daily dose, which likely stems from its purity and fermented form.

Skin improvements may be the most visible outcome, but the deeper value lies in supporting the cellular processes that influence how we age — including bone health, metabolic and brain health, and overall resilience.

That’s why in TrueResveratrol, we use Veri-te specifically and exclusively – giving you the same 150 mg daily dose used in published research studies.

Because of how resveratrol is metabolized, we recommend taking one TrueResveratrol capsule in the morning and one in the evening – each capsule contains 75 mg of Veri-te resveratrol.

Yours for Good Health,
