Most important, EVnol SupraBio has been the subject of many published research studies conducted over 30 years indicating different potential health benefits that a user may experience, particularly with respect to cardiovascular, brain and liver health.
Each serving of TrueE (2 soft gels) contains 27mg (40 IU) of natural d-alpha-tocopherol from the same red palm oil that also provides the tocotrienols. This is equal to 179% of the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for alpha-tocopherol.
The EVNol SupraBio in TrueE has been the subject of a significant amount of research for brain health, a lot of which was funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH). This work revealed several findings not seen with alpha-tocopherol only.
For example, researchers found that a very small amount of tocotrienols may protect brain cells from death caused by glutamate.
The amino acid glutamate is a neurotransmitter that brain cells use to send messages to each other. When some glutamate gets trapped outside cells (more common as we age), it can cause damage over time. Tocotrienols help protect against cell damage caused by glutamate.
One of the largest human studies with tocotrienols looked at their effect on the vascular network in the brain.
This network becomes more fragile as we age, and “leaking pipes” can hurt cognitive function over time. An indication of a deteriorating vascular network in the brain is the formation of white matter lesions (WML) – and after 2 years of taking tocotrienols, the progression of WML was slowed.
More generally, researchers from Stockholm Sweden led a series of studies with senior citizens from 6 European countries that showed higher blood levels of BOTH tocotrienols and tocopherols was associated with better cognitive function (not the case with just tocopherols).
