Setting a New Standard for Resveratrol Supplements!

Resveratrol – or trans-resveratrol – is a phytoalexin, and found in small quantities in foods such as grape skins, peanuts and some berries. Phytoalexins are natural polyphenol compounds produced by plants as a self-defense mechanism.

In the 1990s, resveratrol started receiving great public attention as a possible explanation for the “French Paradox," which explores why the French have lower rates of heart disease despite a diet rich in saturated fat, significant amounts of alcohol and cigarette smoking.

As one of the main polyphenols in red wine – which the French commonly drink in moderate amounts – it was speculated that resveratrol was responsible for better heart health among the French.

Some scientists have challenged this notion, because an eight-ounce glass of wine contains just 1 to 2mg of resveratrol – you’d have to drink more than six bottles daily to get a beneficial amount of resveratrol!

Nevertheless, this set off a flurry of research into resveratrol over the last 20 years. Only in the last decade have we seen significant evidence that resveratrol can help support healthy aging in humans. Of the more than 170 clinical trials conducted with resveratrol, the vast majority have been published since 2014.

The scientific evidence suggests resveratrol can support healthy aging by helping to reduce oxidative stress, promote better blood flow to the brain and circulation throughout the body, and by helping your body maintain healthy levels of inflammation.

In addition, on a molecular level, resveratrol works to help activate SIRT1 (regulates certain stressors) and AMPK (regulates cellular energy).

As noted, grape skins have relatively small amounts of resveratrol, making an extraction for use in supplements impractical.

Sometimes products are advertised as containing resveratrol from red wine grapes, but when you look at the details, typically the amount of resveratrol in the product is extremely low, or the grape powder is fortified with resveratrol from another source. In our view it does not make sense to pay a premium for these misleading products.

Most of the resveratrol in supplements sold today is extracted from the Japanese knotweed plant that’s grown in China. This plant contains unwanted substances that can cause gastrointestinal discomfort (emodin) and other substances that need to be eliminated. More concerning is the levels of contaminants and toxins found in many Japanese knotweed extracts.

The scientifically backed Veri-te™ resveratrol is pure, has consistent potency in every batch, and is free from contaminants, pesticides, toxic heavy metals and food allergens.

Veri-te: Transforming Resveratrol Supplementation Sustainably

Veri-te™ was developed by a Switzerland based company called Evolva, a pioneer and global leader in sustainable, fermentation based natural ingredients. With the Veri-te™ innovation, we believe they now offer the highest quality resveratrol ingredient in the marketplace.

Non-GMO Veri-te™ is made in Europe using a proprietary natural fermentation process. The starting material is sugar. Other materials used in the fermentation “brew” include baker’s yeast, glucose, water and some vitamins and minerals.  The resveratrol is recovered from the growth media using only water and ethanol as solvents.

The resulting Veri-te™ resveratrol is over 98% pure. Better yet, it is contaminant and food allergen free:

  • No emodin
  • No polcyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) or PCBs
  • No pesticides
  • No aflatoxins, or dioxins, and virtually free of toxic heavy metals
  • No unwanted organic solvents

Veri-te™ resveratrol conforms to the resveratrol standard established by the United States Pharmacopeia (USP), and health properties and benefits observed with resveratrol with similar purity can by extrapolated to Veri-te™. These include antioxidant protection, promoting blood flow and vasodilation, rejuvenating mitochondria (energy powerhouses) in cells, and supporting a healthy inflammation response.

Resveratrol is known for supporting metabolic, cardiovascular and blood sugar health.

The scientists working with Veri-te™ have been exploring new and cutting edge applications for resveratrol. This resulted in the findings that Veri-te™ resveratrol promotes bone health, cognitive function and better overall well-being.

Each bottle of TrueResveratrol™ contains 60 veggie capsules with 75mg of Veri-te™ resveratrol. Since resveratrol has a relatively short half-life, taking a serving twice a day (preferably in the morning and evening) is recommended.
